Coaching Challenges

It's so rewarding being a coach. I love talking to other coaches about and how fun the "ah ha" moments are. But there are challenges too. It is challenging to coach for God's glory. It's hard not to get caught up in coaching for the kids or the parents or the club or myself. At the end of the day, I know deep down all that really matters is whether God is pleased with what I have done. Ultimately I have no control over what the girls do or what anyone thinks.
This is a great reminder:
Colossians 3:23-24 "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
Heartily (or with all my heart in other translations) would indicate that part of my heart can't be focused on what anyone else thinks or worry about what is going to happen. ALL of my heart needs to work as working for the Lord. So when we lose a match we shouldn't lose or I have to take out a girl again because she is struggling or a girl just isn't working hard enough or a girl isn't getting the team concept, ALL of my heart has to still be focused on serving Christ.
I continually ask God to work through His Holy Spirit through me to focus on pleasing Him.
